Canadian Business Travellers Plan Ahead for the Holiday Season
While many travellers gear up to visit family or take advantage of time off for a bucket-list vacation in December, some travellers will still be on the clock this Holiday season. SAP Concur analyzed Canadian bookings in Concur Travel over the holiday months. Our latest research reveals that in 2023, business travel peaked on Monday December 4, as professionals scheduled trips well in advance of the December holidays. Seven out of the top ten destinations are within Canada, emphasizing a preference for domestic travel during this period.

Toronto emerges as the undisputed leader, with 14.5 per cent of total trips on December 4th, more than double the bookings of any other destination. Vancouver and Calgary follow closely, contributing 6.2 per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively.
With Christmas right around the corner, thousands of employees have surprisingly booked business trips during the Christmas and the New Year holidays, between Thursday December 21, and Tuesday January 2.

We’re not surprised to see so many holiday business trips planned. Our annual SAP Concur Global Business Travel Survey found that nearly all global business travelers (94%) said they were willing to travel for business in the next 12 months, including 67% who were very willing.
