Finance decision makers think AP automation could save 40% of the time currently spent on the AP process and cut the average payment cycle time in half.
Northstar Research Partners surveyed over 500 Canadian finance decision makers at companies ranging from small business to large enterprise organizations. The 2017 research explored the top concerns when it came to supplier invoice processing as well as the awareness level of Accounts Payable (AP) automation. At the time of the research, 80% of businesses said they have some level of AP automation, but of that 80% only 12% are completely automated.
What the research also showed is that there are a number of common challenges faced by finance teams, including:
• Paying duplicate invoices
• Making late payments
• Invoice approval taking too long
